There are plants which play an important role in each country’s life. These plants are considered to be a basic source of survival. But without any doubt countries vary from each other with a number of cultural, religious and economic dimensions. It has been long recognized that apricot-tree is the ‘the symbol of Armenia’ and it is of great and indispensible importance for our nation. Firstly,we have favorable and adequate conditions for the growth of this plant. The geographical position and climate in my country, especially in Ararat valley are very suitable for fertile cultivation of apricots. In this context, the great amount of this fruit improves economic development in Armenia with the help of export. About 50 % of the yield is exported to other countries annually. In the export of apricot Armenia holds high range rank in international market nowadays. The second reason in this regard is that apricot is very important for good health. Its influence on the human body is huge, especially on such organs as stomach and liver. The other fact that should be emphasized is our national adoration towards of this plant. It has become a national symbol in our country. One of our national musical instruments, called ‘duduk’ is made of apricot –tree wood. Today this instrument has already become known worldwide and the masters of duduk,no matter of which origin prefer to make their instrument from Armenian plants of apricot. The most telling conclusion is that the apricot tree does not only serve as food in my country but also the source of foreign market development, and a subject of adoration.
