Updated educational programme: Changes and prospects

In the era of the fourth industrial revolution and age of striving techno- logical, social and economic changes it is necessary to create new model of a

teacher and learner to provide global competitiveness. Kazakhstan is actively integrating into the global community where a fierce competition of economy, technology, education systems takes place. Consequently, changes in the edu- cation reforms are necessary and important measures at this point.
The President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev in his speech emphasized that human capital is a key factor in modernization. Global world is always full of changes and integration is everywhere nowadays, therefore it is crucial to raise a competitive, smart, competent, multilingual youth who is very keen on ICT technology to meet the requirements and satisfy the needs of the modern world. Therefore, there has appeared a strong need to modernize the system of education and curricula. Consequently, it is the duty of lecturers and teachers to foster creativity and thirst for knowledge, and master all the stated skills.
Updated educational programme aims to boost the quality of education as nowadays our young generation is the main trigger of development in the future.
At present AEO «Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools» Center of Excellence is organizing special courses to meet the requirements and needs of teachers. The majority of teachers and university lecturers in Kazakhstan have attended further professional development and teacher training courses on the updated education- al programme and they are expected to implement their gained experience and knowledge in practice. Teacher receive a lot support and help at these courses, as they have a great opportunity to collaborate with their colleagues, exchange ideas, share knowledge, get motivated and master new skills.
Any good changes in education is a new chance to look at the process of learning and teaching differently from various angles. Two weeks of further devel- opment courses designed to introduce the university lecturers with the peculiari- ties and differences of updated educational programme helped us to get a deeper insight of the content, peculiarities, prospects and pitfalls of updated educational programme. To my mind, this course will be a great contribution in educational process in the future, as we had a chance to study and differentiate the structure of many educational standards, normative documents, lesson plans, planning, learn- ing objectives, descriptors, different types of lessons, methods of critical thinking, criteria based assessment, level of thinking skills. I find this course effective, as it will enable me to use criteria assessment, formative and summative assessment adequately at the lesson considering differentiated instruction.
One of the valuable things I studied here during the courses is peculiarity of giving feedback and the way the policy of transparency in grading students’

assignments work in the context of updated educational programme. I believe that best teaching experience from workshops, new approaches and styles of teaching, methodological support, tips and all topics covered during study will help me to get my students motivated to study the subject I teach and get en- gaged in the learning process with burning desire to learn.
